Proteoform Thursday: Charlotte Uetrecht and Assel Berikkara present: “An SDRF-Based Metadata Framework for Native and Ion Mobility MS”

Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026 11:00 AM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Native mass spectrometry and ion mobility mass spectrometry are powerful tools for characterizing protein complexes and other macromolecular assemblies, yet standardized metadata reporting in these fields remains limited. Unlike bottom-up proteomics, which benefits from mature reporting standards and established data repositories, native and ion mobility MS still lack a shared framework for capturing experiment-specific metadata in a structured, machine-readable way. To address this gap, we together with EBI-PRIDE developed an SDRF template for native and ion mobility MS that extends the existing MS proteomics standard for data deposition in the PRIDE Database.
