Top-Down Proteomics Workshop at the 73rd Annual ASMS Meeting

Over 150 people attended the Top-Down Proteomics Workshop at last week’s meeting in Baltimore, MD.  The Workshop on Software and Data Analysis Strategies for Getting the Most Out of Your Data was organized and presented by Fanny Caroline Liu of Florida State University and Corinne Lutomski of Oxford University.  After brief introductions, 7 panelists presented their software offerings, highlighting the major benefits of using their tools.  The panelists were: Xiaowen Liu (Tulane Univ., TopPIC); Boris Krichel (Univ. Hamburg, MASH); Ken Durbin (Proteinaceous, ProSight Suite); Kyowon Jeong (Univ. Tuebingen, FLASH); Jack Bennett (Oxford, PrecisION); Mariangela Kosmopoulou (Fasmatech, OmniScape); and Michael Shortreed (Univ. Wisconsin-Madison, Proteoform Suite).  In addition to the spirited discussions on the various tools and approaches, the audience was queried on their needs and wants for software and the results of that survey are available at the link at the right.
