Proteoform Thursday: James Fulcher presents “How TopPICR can enhance YOUR quantitative top-down proteomic analyses”
Feb 29, 2024 11:00 AM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)
TopPICR is a companion R package to the top-down proteomic software TopPIC and was developed to introduce robust quantification capabilities (such as retention time correction, mass recalibration, clustering, and match-between-runs) into proteoform quantification across large sample sets. We highlight results from several recent studies incorporating TopPICR to demonstrate its utility. This includes studies on: (1) detailed insulin processing steps in mice, (2) proteoform changes in symbiotic root nodules, and (3) dysregulation of proteoforms in Alzheimer’s disease. Finally, we will discuss unique observations related to the nature of proteolysis discovered through TopPICR visualizations.
